It’s as if Portland is just waiting to celebrate with you. Whether you’re planning for festivities in the near future or have to wait a bit, check out the best places around town that treat you on your birthday to free food, beverages, or services:

☕ Your Morning Brew (or Any Drink) From Dutch Bros.

When to go: Day of

For downloading their app, Dutch Bros. gives you a free drink immediately and then another on your birthday. If you struggle with the app, the baristas are friendly at the drive-through and happy to help you celebrate with this freebie.

🍩 Warm Doughnuts From Pip’s (Portland)

When to go: Day of

At Pip's Original Doughnuts & Chai, there are freshly baked mini doughnuts waiting for you. Try all their flavors or just a few with a free dozen on your birthday. Hot tip: Eat them while they’re warm. And you may want to pay for their chai, which is also very tasty.

♨️ A Soak at Everett House

When to go: Day of, exceptions only for July 4 and Dec. 25

It’s like the urban version of a visit to a hot spring — in the heart of the East Side. Get some heat in their hot tub, steam room, and sauna. Note: you’re not required to, but generally visitors go au natural.

🧊 A Cold Popsicle From Kulfi

When to go: Within 7 days of your birthday. (They’re closed Monday and Tuesday)

Their popsicles are among the best treats out there. They’re even better when you get them for free.

🎂 Free Dessert With a Celebratory Meal

If you’re looking for a birthday dinner that comes with free desserts, check out suggestions from Eater Portland, including Pastini, Portland City Grill, and Mama Mia Trattoria.

🎁 Even More!

Local shops aren’t the only ones with birthday freebies. Check out the deals offered by national chains, from Sephora to AMC Theatres. Here’s a lengthy run-down, courtesy of NerdWallet. (Thanks to Asha Prihar from Hey Philly for this tip!)
