The Best Portland Trail Blazers

Posted on February 14, 2023   |   Updated on September 30, 2025

Rachel Monahan

Dia Miller of Shooting Hoops knows the Trail Blazers. She’s becoming a regular guest on City Cast Portland, where she chatted last month about the chances of a Blazers championship win.

We asked Dia Miller for a list of her favorite Blazers of all time.

Clyde Drexler. “He was the first player I ever really followed as a kid and really shaped a lot of my Blazer's fandom – even to the point where when he was traded, I was a Rockets fan for a couple years. I liked watching him dunk. I liked how he played. I liked who he was off the court. He always just seemed very kind and reserved. In an era of basketball where the stars were very loud and in your face, there was just something kind of cool [about Clyde].”

“Brian Grant
was the player that I picked up after Clyde left, because then I needed a new favorite player. I loved him as a kid. I'm not sure that I really had the ability to know who was the best player. I just picked the people that I liked watching, and I liked watching Brian Grant."

Damian Lillard.
“I think Dame is making a strong, solid case for being the best Trail Blazer to ever wear the uniform. He is obviously an incredible player; to watch his game is amazing. But then on top of that, he's just a really good human. He loves the city. He loves the team. He loves the fans. He gives back a lot, and he's just the kind of person on and off the court that you just really want to root for.”
