Michael Russell of the Oregonian recently joined the City Cast Portland podcast, offering his run-down on some of the best places to get brunch in Portland:
Best New Brunch: The Woodsman Tavern
“It's new again because they closed for several years… Brunch does not resemble what Woodsman Tavern used to look like… Their brunch is really fantastic. You can go really fancy there. You can get a giant seafood tower for $75 or $150 or whatever, or you can just get, frankly, one of the best eggs Benedict that I've had, which comes on a really well-done crab cake.”

Next Iconic Brunch Spot: Matt’s BBQ Tacos
“Matt's BBQ Tacos has a chance to become a local destination kind of place along the lines of Screen Door or The Original Pancake House. He does such a good job. Those breakfast tacos could hold their own in Austin. They're delicious.”
Best Brunch: The Original Pancake House
“This place is like a fantasy land for breakfast lovers. It's in an old converted house. The waitresses are wearing pink aprons. The house is white, and it has all sorts of little gingerbread house touches. And they make really fantastic Dutch baby pancakes, which are the ones that are baked in a skillet; they rise up like a soufflé. They're really well done there, better than a lot of newer restaurants seem to be able to manage.”
