Where should we eat in Portland right now?
Here’s a last round of restaurant recommendations from outgoing editor of Eater Portland Brooke Jackson-Glidden, as she heads off to a new job.
“[It’s] a place that everyone should go,” says Jackson-Glidden. “I really think Kachka is special. It's one of those restaurants where it's very specific to here. And if you haven't been yet, I really do think it's worth going.”
Menu: Russian food. (Tip: get vodka and pickle juice.)
“A restaurant that is underrated — I'm gonna say Gracie's Apizza in St. John's. You just always see the neighborhood there in a way that feels really special and the food is really great. ”
Menu: Pizza, naturally. You’ll get housemade sourdough crust.
“It's a restaurant that has matured a ton since my first meal there. I think it was always good, in my opinion; I think it became really great. [The owners] were constantly going back to Spain to try new things and to grow and to challenge themselves. They have that nice balance of taking risks and retaining really loyal regulars.”
Menu: Spanish tapas.
