🥪 Portland’s Best Food Carts

Portland dining wouldn’t be the same without food carts. Eater Portland’s updated list of excellent carts now includes Tokyo Sando, the Japanese-style sandwich spot that recently reopened at Downtown’s Midtown Beer Garden. [Eater Portland]

🍴 Openings of Note

The Oregonian singles out some notable spots worth checking out. [Oregonian]

  • 🇫🇷 Le Clown, a French pop-up, has opened on Mondays and Tuesdays at Lil’ Dame.
  • 🍺 The Love Shack, from the folks behind G-Love, is a new cocktail bar with an extensive snack menu.
  • 🍴 Magna is now offering lunch.
  • 🍣 And Nimblefish has begun offering a la carte dining, not just its $95 omakase.
  • Related: A new Chinese restaurant Warsugai, and its namesake almond-fried chicken dish, got a mention from Oregonian restaurant critic and reviewer Michael Russell, during his recent appearance on the City Cast Portland podcast. [City Cast Portland 🎧]

Reader Recommendation

🍸 Fools and Horses: “F&H vibes so good!!! The El Rey cocktail is hella smooth and buttery likely bc of da bacon fat! All the bar snacks are f’n delicious and happily make a meal. I’m craving their grilled cheese and crab/crack right now. There’s a guest chef so get in while the gettin's good!” (My plan: to go — and soon. Thanks for the tip!)

As always, I’m interested in your recommendations. What are your most recent excellent meals out? (You can respond to this email. Or use this link.)
