Portland Has A Car Culture?
Portland is well-known for trying to reduce commuting by car. But amidst our city’s walkability goals, there’s always been a car subculture that’s transforming and restoring automobiles into something worthy of display. Today on City Cast Portland, we're talking to members of Car Krush, a collective of gender-diverse car enthusiasts, on why Portland's subgenre of car culture is more inclusive than most cities. Emily Olivia Tyler and Rose “Queen of the Vans” organize classes, block parties, and car shows to make learning about cars more approachable.
