This week, we’re sharing updates from two of Portland’s LGBTQ+ establishments, a new best-of list, and a few places where you can find festive drinks.
🏆 The Best Restaurants in Portland
Eater Portland released its annual list of culinary awards and it’s a doozy. The awardees include upscale restaurants, pop-ups, dives, and more. Did your favorite eatery make the list? [Eater Portland]
🏳️🌈 A Tale of Two LGBTQ+ Landmarks
Crush Bar announced on social media that it would be closing on New Year’s Eve after 25 years in the Buckman neighborhood. The bar narrowly avoided closure last year after an employee invested money. Meanwhile, drag venue Darcelle XV Showplace announced a change of ownership that will keep it open. [Willamette Week, Portland Business Journal]
🥃 Festive Drink Spots
‘Tis the season to eat, drink, and sleep holiday vibes. Here are a few spots around Portland to help you with the beverage part of the equation.
The beloved “Miracle” holiday pop-up at Deadshot is the hot ticket in town. Reservations are sold out, but you can sign up for alerts in case a spot opens up.
Moonshot is offering a special holiday-themed cocktail menu all month long, including an interesting take on hot cocoa and a “coquito” style eggnog. And if you want to keep the nog train rolling, check out Everout’s list of eggnog purveyors.
You can also pay your respects to Krampus at Raven’s Manor and sip on special cocktails like the “All Work No Play,” a mezcal libation with allspice, cranberry bitters, and cinnamon.
The City Cast Portland podcast also has a Doug Fir cocktail recipe and a list of cozy Portland bars.
Cheers!
